I am standing for election to become a Trustee of ALT & a place on the Central Executive Committee.

If you have a vote please use it wisely ;)

1. The election is open to all ALT individual members. 
2. If you work at a member organisation then someone somewhere will have a vote as the organisational representative.  Track them down!

I was nominated by Steve Ryan and seconded by @johnnigelcook. I had to write an election address:

If elected to the Central Executive Committee my focus would be to:

1. increase opportunities for our members to network and share best practice;
2. ensure we continue to develop our own use of web technologies & the open web;
3. encourage more of our members to contribute to the work of ALT.

I offer the perspective of a grassroots learning technologist:

• I work with staff in higher education on a daily basis: supporting, explaining, questioning & disseminating good practice on the use of technology in education.
• I’m an active member of the global educational technology community.
• I’m an enthusiastic user of social media providing expertise on the use of blogging & social media in education both within and outside my institution.

I have been working in the education sector for 18 years and in HE learning technology roles for the last 10 years.  I am a Governor at my local primary school and was previously an elected member of the Academic Board at London Metropolitan University.

I’m a member of the ALT Publications Committee and have been on the Programme Committees for both ALT-C 2010 & 2011.
