@francesbell - feed of feeds
Hi Frances, I can add your blog to the feed of feeds but first I need an altc2011 specific feed.  You need to add your post(s) to either a category or tag that’s specific to the conference.  Most people have been using altc2011 but it actually doesn’t matter what the tag/category is, just that it’s used only on the conference related posts.. This what I need, either Category:...

Accreditation, CMALT & UKPSF
In relation to the ALT Trustees election, I’ve just been asked by @lawrie “Where do you stand on accreditation, CMALT and UKPSF?”. Honest answer Lawrie: I don’t have a position on this, as it’s not something I’ve come across & had to consider.  I’ve clearly got a lot to learn. I know what CMALT is but I’ll have to admit that the HEA UK...

I’m looking for a visual tool for us to display in lecture theatres between sessions at ALT-C & just came across Twitter Fountain It looks great.  The example below is using images from Flickr, Picasa & TwitPic tagged “altc2010” & tweets tagged “#LSE”. Recording external meetings etc
@BLE1 why not go for something in between - longer but still short posts with a few more details than a tweet allows.  You’ve got me thinking I should use this Tumblr account for that very thing. Maybe I will. Although my travels aren’t as varied and interesting as yours I’m sure. Hey, perhaps we could have a shared edtech travels journal!

Wordpress Flickr Plugin with CC Licence
From WordPress jiscmail list: The Triton project at the University of Oxford (OER phase 2) has devised and developed two plugins to help users add flickr pictures to their WordPress content. One plugin is very simple, and only gets CC-BY pictures (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/flickr-picture-find-and-attribute/) and the other is more powerful and gets any license you’d like ...

Allow iframe in WordPress Blog posts
This is for self-hosted blogs NOT wordpress.com There are plenty of plugins, for example Embed iframe I don’t know if it works for all themes, but my colleague did a code edit which worked on our wp site (our theme is based on Twenty Ten theme) Add the following lines to “functions.php” in your theme: // Allow IFRAME, so you can use some embed code supplied by, e.g. Google...

Remove All Powerpoint Notes
Just discovered this, excellent.  You can remove all your Notes from all slides at once.  Great when for occasions you want to share slides but not your notes. See http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00178.htm for Office 2007 and earlier.  For Office 2010 then it’s: File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document > inspect > remove All (Presentation Notes). Obvious eh?  Where do MS...

Google Moderator
I just discovered Google Moderator, which looks to be a great tool for collating questions & ideas from a networked audience. It was used this morning at #estict in a presentation by Derek Bruff.  Take a look at it and you’ll see the questions the audience were asking (as of 11:50 there are 27 questions from 13 people, with 92 good/bad question votes).

Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey
Just had a quick flick through the 2010 Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey report.  Comments on feedback caught my eye; as with the NSS (I think) satisfaction with feedback is lower than for other aspects of teaching. Feedback on my work has helped me clarify things I did not understand 58% Agree I received feedback in time to allow me to improve my next assignment 56% Agree whereas, for...

7 Things... VLE Alternatives
The latest Educause 7 Things you You Should Know about… is LMS [VLE] Alternatives.  http://net.educause.edu/ir/library/pdf/ELI7062.pdf For example, Wordpress MU and loose collections of tools such as Voicethreads* & Diigo. I think we need a better name than ‘LMS alternatives’ though.  It’s not a PLE as it’s still picked by the Tutor/institution.  Ideas? *Must...
